Dear Ms. Radcliffe:
I can’t believe that I am writing yet another letter during the course of one year thanking you and your staff for the care of my parents, this time for my mother, Mary Nowakowski. Just a year ago my sweet father, Henry Nowakowski left us to go to heaven. Needless to say, this has been a very difficult year for me and my family. The words below are written on behalf of both my brothers and their families, as well as my husband and our children.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for sending the lovely peace lily to us. It is in my kitchen right next to the one that you sent when my Dad passed away. I smile when I see them side-by side happy and basking in gentle sunlight. It is an image I hold in my heart.
I cannot begin to explain the depth and breadth of our appreciation to Taylor Care Center and your staff for the wonderful care given both of my parents. While Dad was not often able to verbalize his appreciation, my mother told the staff as well as her family just how much she appreciated the care given to both of them. No small deed went unnoticed by my mother.
There are so many people that made their lives and in particular my mother’s life not just bearable, but enjoyable. I can certainly name many people who enriched my mother’s life, but in no way is it a slight by not naming them all. Gail Korhorn loved my mother like a second mother and my mother thought of her as one of her own. Dorothy Edwards cared for my mother (and father, calling him “Chief”) in the kindest and gentlest and most respectful manner imaginable. Donna Green literally held my mother’s hand until her last breath, when I simply couldn’t. These women attended both my parents’ funerals and supported me in ways that I can never acknowledge. The other nurses, CNAs, and all the other support staff daily uplifted my mother with kind words, gentle touches, kisses, and hugs. To them I am eternally grateful.
There are so many things that Taylor Care Center is doing right. I would be remiss in not acknowledging the front desk receptionists whom I adore; the business office which is so well run; the admissions ladies (Jessa you gave me the best birthday present ever when you placed my Mom and Dad together); and all who participated in the Care Plan Meetings (when I could make it in person and later via phone calls). Taylor Care Center is an amazing place where amazing people take care of our loved ones. Don’t ever underestimate the value of your work.
God bless all of you and know that you will always be in my heart.
